National Farmers Union President Rob Larew has commented on the recently unveiled year-end government funding package. According to Larew, Congress has made a significant move by incorporating billions in immediate economic and disaster assistance for family farmers and ranchers into the package.
Larew emphasized that while this step is crucial, the work remains incomplete. He stressed the importance of Congressional leaders in Washington finalizing the deal without further delays. "Family farmers and ranchers cannot afford any more delays, and frankly, neither can the rest of the country," Larew stated.
He further urged members of the Farmers Union to remain vocal and maintain pressure on their elected representatives to ensure completion of this deal. "Farmers don’t get to walk away from their obligations; Congress shouldn’t either," he added.
