Eleazar Alfredo Gomez, a 32-year-old resident of Casa Grande and member of the Gila River Indian Community, has been sentenced to 58 months in prison. This decision was made by United States District Judge Douglas L. Rayes following Gomez's guilty plea on September 10, 2024, for being a felon in possession of a firearm. After serving his sentence, Gomez will also undergo three years of supervised release.

This recent conviction marks Gomez's second offense for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. On July 23, 2024, he was found with a firearm despite previous convictions for assault with a dangerous weapon and felon in possession of a firearm (CR-18-01086-PHX-DLR). For this latest offense, Gomez received a sentence of 46 months. Additionally, he was given an extra 12 months for violating the terms of his supervised release from the earlier case in 2018.

The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the Phoenix Police Department. The prosecution was led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Raynette Logan from the District of Arizona in Phoenix.
