Beau Don Morton, a 42-year-old resident of Muldrow, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to two concurrent 30-month prison terms for illegal possession of a firearm and maintaining a drug-involved premises. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced the sentencing.
The charges were the result of an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office. Morton had pleaded guilty on June 3, 2024.
According to investigators, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Morton's residence in Muldrow on April 6, 2022. They found methamphetamine, heroin, amphetamine tablets, fentanyl tablets, syringes, digital scales, and an AR-15-style firearm with loaded magazines.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and gun violence through community collaboration. The Department launched an enhanced violent crime reduction strategy for PSN on May 26, 2021.
The Honorable Ronald A. White presided over the hearing at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Morton will remain in custody until he is transferred to a designated Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence without parole.
