Adrian Horton, a 23-year-old from Toledo, Ohio, was sentenced to five years and three months in prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine base. This sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release.

The sentencing follows an incident on March 28, 2022, when law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence in Huntington where Horton was staying. Officers found over 40 grams of fentanyl, cocaine, firearms including a semi-automatic weapon and a loaded pistol. Horton admitted he intended to distribute the drugs and used the residence for drug distribution.

Horton also acknowledged possessing firearms for protection during drug transactions and distributing drugs with a co-conspirator before the search. Additionally, he admitted to aiding straw purchases of firearms by giving cash to drug buyers who falsely certified their purchases were personal.

United States Attorney Will Thompson praised the work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Huntington Police Department in this case. The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers, with Assistant United States Attorneys Owen Reynolds and Stephanie Taylor prosecuting.
