Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning has responded to a new proposal from Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Roger Wicker. The proposal, along with accompanying legislation known as the FORGED Act, aims to streamline the Department of Defense's acquisition process by eliminating complex regulations.

Fanning stated, "As the voice of the American aerospace and defense industry, we welcome Senator Wicker’s continued focus on strengthening the defense industrial base and reforming defense acquisition." He further noted that Wicker's proposal, in conjunction with efforts from the Department of Government Efficiency, presents an opportunity to enhance innovation and expedite delivery of weapons and equipment to military personnel.

The AIA is currently reviewing the full details of Senator Wicker's plan. Fanning expressed eagerness to collaborate with him to maximize the potential of the U.S. industrial base for national defense purposes.
