TechNet, a network of innovation economy leaders, has released the findings of a new survey conducted with Ipsos. The study highlights the significant role e-commerce marketplaces play in supporting small businesses. The research indicates that these platforms are instrumental in helping small enterprises succeed by providing cost-effective solutions and expanding customer reach.
Linda Moore, President and CEO of TechNet, emphasized the importance of online retail in today's competitive market. "This poll underscores the essential role that online retail plays in the competitive retail landscape," she stated. "With many more options for sellers than ever before, these companies are tapping online retail platforms to operate, grow, and thrive."
The survey involved 1,003 small business retailers who use e-commerce marketplaces to sell their products. It was conducted from October 23 to November 5, 2024. Additionally, 85% reported that using these platforms helps reduce overall business expenses. Furthermore, 92% agreed that e-commerce marketplaces make it easier to reach potential customers.
The survey also found that 90% of participants believe e-commerce marketplaces offer valuable analytics tools for launching new product lines. Moreover, 79% noted that online sales have opened opportunities for getting their products into physical stores.
