Evann Robinson, a 40-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, has been sentenced to eight years and four months in prison for distributing methamphetamine. Following his prison term, Robinson will undergo three years of supervised release.
Court documents reveal that on May 9, 2023, Robinson sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant in Beckley. A subsequent search warrant executed by law enforcement on May 15, 2023, at Robinson's residence in Beckley led to the seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and $9,350 in cash. Among the seized money was $40 in recorded buy money.
Robinson's criminal record includes convictions for assault with intent to cause great bodily harm and multiple firearm-related offenses.
United States Attorney Will Thompson acknowledged the efforts of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit. This unit comprises officers from several agencies including the West Virginia State Police and the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department.
The sentence was handed down by Chief United States District Judge Frank W. Volk. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney D. Keith Randolph.
