Border Patrol agents in the Blaine Sector seized approximately 78 pounds of cocaine on Thursday, valued at over $1.1 million. The discovery was made when agents found two black backpacks in a wooded area near the border in Lynden. Inside, they uncovered 30 brick-like packages containing a white powdery substance, which was later confirmed to be cocaine.
Chief Patrol Agent Rosario “Pete” Vasquez commented on the seizure, stating, “Thanks to the vigilance of Blaine Sector Border Patrol agents these dangerous narcotics were prevented from reaching our communities.” He emphasized the dedication of the agents, noting their tireless efforts to protect the nation.
The confiscated narcotics have been handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further action.
