Dyshawn Fisher, a 29-year-old from Troy, New York, has pled guilty to escaping from the Horizon House Residential Reentry Center on October 1, 2024. This announcement was made by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and David L. McNulty, United States Marshal for the Northern District of New York.

Fisher's legal troubles began when he was sentenced on November 25, 2020, in federal court to 75 months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felonies. These included possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances. On October 10, 2023, during his sentence, Fisher was transferred by the Bureau of Prisons to Horizon House in Albany. He left the facility without approval on October 1, 2024, and remained at large until his arrest on October 17, 2024, in Cohoes, New York.

Fisher is set to be sentenced by United States District Judge Anne M. Nardacci on April 2, 2025. He could face up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of supervised release. The sentence will be determined based on the statute violated by Fisher and guided by the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines among other factors.

The case is being investigated by the United States Marshals Service and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin S. Clark.
