A Norfolk man, Adam Donley Greenberg, also known as Adam Brandon, has been sentenced to five years in prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing took place following his involvement in a drug trafficking operation from June 2020 to January 2021.
Court documents reveal that Greenberg, 39, obtained methamphetamine from Michael Wade Kozak, 57, who was based in the Atlanta area. Kozak used FedEx to ship the drugs from Georgia to Virginia. Payments were made through Cash App and other methods. Communication and arrangements for shipments were conducted via a social media app.
On November 11, 2020, Greenberg received a parcel containing methamphetamine at an apartment in Norfolk. Three days later, narcotics detectives from the Chesapeake Police Department apprehended him at a hotel room in Norfolk on an outstanding warrant. A search of the room led to the discovery of 85.24 grams of meth hidden behind a wall painting.
The announcement was made by Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Derek W. Gordon, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Washington, D.C.; and Mark G. Solesky, Chief of Chesapeake Police after U.S. District Judge Arenda Wright Allen delivered the sentence.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Darryl J. Mitchell prosecuted the case.
