Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer met with Colombian Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo at the White House. The meeting, which took place yesterday, focused on various regional and bilateral topics.
Finer expressed gratitude to Foreign Minister Murillo for Colombia's leadership role as the first Country Chair for the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection. This initiative was launched by the United States along with 21 regional partners in 2022 to address migration issues collaboratively.
The two officials also discussed challenges facing democracy within the hemisphere and emphasized the significance of maintaining a strong relationship between the United States and Colombia.
