German Ex-Minister of Finance: 'The U.S. is now implementing new crypto-friendly policies'

Christian Lindner, former Federal Minister of Finance and leader of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), has expressed that Germany should adopt Bitcoin and digital currencies. He noted that the United States is implementing policies favorable to cryptocurrencies. This statement was shared on X on December 16.

"I haven't heard anything from the Chancellor, the Minister of Economics, or the opposition leader about the fact that the U.S. is now implementing anew crypto-friendly policies," said Lindner, leader of the Free Democratic Party (FDP). "The U.S. is working to seize opportunities with Bitcoin that we could also be taking advantage of. Yet, I hear nothing about this in any major debate in the German Bundestag."

According to Lindner's post, he included a video discussing the absence of debate in the German Bundestag regarding Bitcoin and cryptocurrency policies. He mentioned that he has not heard any discussions from key political figures such as the Chancellor, the Minister of Economics, or the opposition leader about the U.S.'s new crypto-friendly policies. Lindner pointed out that while the U.S. is "seizing" opportunities with Bitcoin, Germany has yet to address this topic in significant debates.
