US-China relations on climate change to be discussed at upcoming event

The United States and China are at the forefront of global climate leadership, with both nations playing pivotal roles in shaping the future of climate action, green technologies, and energy innovation. As they navigate strategic challenges in clean energy and carbon reduction technologies, they also face the pressing global threat of climate change.

On January 13, the John L. Thornton China Center will convene a high-level discussion to explore the evolving dynamics of U.S.-China relations concerning climate change and green technology. Panelists will provide insights and policy recommendations based on their recent research. Key topics include U.S.-China export bans on essential minerals and technologies, investments in clean energy and innovation, and policy decisions from Washington and Beijing aimed at securing leadership in the emerging green economy.
