HERE Technologies and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a significant collaboration to advance the development of software-defined vehicles. The partnership includes a 10-year, $1 billion cloud infrastructure agreement aimed at supporting AI-powered mapping and location services for automotive, transportation, logistics, and mobility companies worldwide.

The collaboration will enhance automakers' ability to develop electric, automated, and software-defined vehicles by combining AWS technologies with HERE's mapping solutions. This integration is expected to accelerate the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Automated Driving (AD), and new digital car experiences.

For nearly ten years, HERE has utilized AWS for its core cloud infrastructure. The expanded collaboration allows HERE to offer automakers cloud-native tools to speed up automotive innovations like improved safety features and infotainment systems.

HERE’s live mapping services are built on AWS's global infrastructure. This setup enables high-performance vehicle routing challenges to be addressed more effectively while improving EV driving efficiency. Additionally, it supports developers in building essential location-based services through Amazon Location Service.

Beyond automotive applications, AWS and HERE have entered into a Strategic Collaboration Agreement to build transportation and logistics solutions using HERE’s mapping content alongside AWS’s computing capabilities. These solutions aim to optimize fulfillment processes and supply chains while enhancing sustainability goals.
