Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, Rena Bitter, is set to visit Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Israel, from January 6 to 9. During her stay, she will meet with U.S. Embassy staff in both cities to review consular operations and connect with U.S. citizens affected by the Israel-Hamas conflict in Israel and the West Bank.
Bitter's agenda includes discussions with Israeli officials aimed at urging the completion of investigations into recent killings of U.S. citizens in the West Bank. She will also focus on ensuring fair treatment for U.S. citizens traveling through Israel and reinforcing cooperation in providing consular assistance.
