Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina M. Khan has announced an open virtual meeting of the Commission scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The meeting will start at 11 a.m. ET and will provide an opportunity for public participation.
The agenda includes several key items:
1. **Housing 6(b):** The Commission will discuss issuing a request for public comment on orders related to the housing market. These orders aim to explore single-family rental investor holdings and assess mega-investor strategies.
2. **Labor Exemption Policy Statement:** A proposed policy statement is under consideration to clarify that the Clayton Act’s labor exemption applies regardless of whether a worker is classified as an employee or independent contractor. It emphasizes protection from antitrust liability concerning compensation and working conditions.
3. **PBM 6(b) Second Interim Report:** The Commission will review a second interim staff report from its study on pharmacy benefit managers' contracting practices, expanding on initial findings about specialty drugs.
Chair Khan will deliver opening remarks before inviting public feedback on the Commission's work. Public participants must register by Friday, January 10, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET to address the Commission virtually during the event, with each speaker allotted two minutes.
Those unable to attend can submit written comments or links to prerecorded videos via a webform. The meeting can be viewed live through FTC.gov, and recordings along with related comments will be available online post-event.
