Fulfilling a commitment made on July 12, 2024, the Co-Lead Nations of the eight Capability Coalitions have been collaborating with Ukraine to develop roadmaps aimed at enhancing security assistance and defense capabilities. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to support Ukraine's interoperability with NATO and establish a credible defense and deterrence capability.
The Coalition Leadership Group has endorsed the eight roadmaps created by the Capability Coalitions. "These roadmaps are a substantial step forward in our countries' support for Ukraine," they stated, emphasizing their role in guiding ongoing coalition work and signaling needs to the defense industry.
Looking ahead to 2027, the participating nations plan to work closely with Ukraine to meet set benchmarks. This involves balancing Ukraine's immediate wartime needs with future force requirements through national donations, procurements, investments, and expanding defense industrial base capacity. Efforts will also include leveraging Ukraine's domestic defense industry production and sustainment capabilities.
The coalitions intend to continually refine these plans to address both urgent and long-term needs as Ukraine continues its defense against potential Russian aggression.
