Roger B. Handberg, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida

United States District Judge Thomas P. Barber has sentenced Esteban Suarez Trejo, a 33-year-old Mexican national, to 33 months in federal prison for illegal reentry into the United States after deportation as a felon. Suarez Trejo entered a guilty plea on October 4, 2024.

Court documents reveal that Suarez Trejo was convicted of aggravated assault on January 4, 2010, leading to his deportation from the United States to Mexico. After his deportation, he illegally returned to the United States.

The case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ICE-ERO) and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick L. Darcey.
