CoreWeave partners with IBM on NVIDIA-powered supercomputer for Granite model training

CoreWeave has announced its partnership with IBM to deliver an AI supercomputer equipped with NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchip-enabled systems. This development is aimed at enhancing the training of IBM's Granite models, a series of open-source AI models designed for enterprise use.

Michael Intrator, CoreWeave CEO and co-founder, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "We are thrilled to partner with IBM, a long-time pioneer of innovative technology solutions, to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence." He emphasized that this partnership highlights CoreWeave’s capabilities in delivering advanced AI cloud solutions.

The new supercomputer will utilize CoreWeave’s cloud platform known for its performance and reliability. It will also integrate IBM Storage Scale System combined with NVMe flash technology to provide high-performance storage suitable for AI and data analytics workloads. As part of this agreement, CoreWeave customers will have access to IBM's storage platform within their dedicated environments.

Sriram Raghavan, VP of AI at IBM Research, stated: "We are excited to work with CoreWeave on state-of-the-art AI hardware and software to unlock new capabilities for future generations of IBM Granite models." He noted that this collaboration would enhance both companies' offerings in enterprise AI applications.
