The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Brian Jene Sullivan, a 66-year-old resident of Shady Point, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.
According to the indictment, between July 2023 and July 21, 2024, Sullivan knowingly did not comply with the registration requirements outlined in the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act. This obligation followed his felony conviction in Oregon in 2007 for Rape in the Third Degree and Sodomy in the Third Degree.
The investigation leading to this charge was conducted by the U.S. Marshals Service, the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office, and the Winston Police Department of Douglas County, Oregon.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted Sullivan's plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and ordered a presentence investigation report.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Morgan Muzljakovich represented the United States in this case.
