Okmulgee resident pleads guilty to federal firearm charge

Gabriel Lee Williams II, also known as Chi-Chi, from Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma confirmed the plea on January 13, 2025.

Williams, aged 26, admitted guilt to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The indictment stated that on April 27, 2024, he knowingly possessed a 9mm handgun and a .40 caliber handgun. This was despite his prior conviction for a crime punishable by more than one year of imprisonment.

The investigation leading to these charges was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives alongside the Okmulgee Police Department.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted Williams' plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A presentence investigation report has been ordered following this acceptance. Until sentencing is finalized, Williams will remain under the custody of the United States Marshals Service.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dean Burris represented the government in this case.
