Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Benjamine Huffman has issued a statement regarding the death of a US Border Patrol agent. The incident occurred on January 20, when an agent from the Swanton Sector was fatally shot while on duty.
Huffman expressed his condolences, saying, "Every single day, our Border Patrol agents put themselves in harm’s way so that Americans and our homeland are safe and secure. My prayers and deepest condolences are with our Department, the Agent’s family, loved ones, and colleagues."
He also mentioned that the incident is under investigation and that additional information will be provided by the Department of Homeland Security as it becomes available.
