Neon L. Frazier, a 50-year-old resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The verdict was reached after a two-day jury trial overseen by United States District Court Chief Judge Holly A. Brady. This announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay.
The sentencing hearing for Frazier will be scheduled separately. The final sentence will be determined by the District Court Judge, taking into account federal statutes and the United States Sentencing Guidelines.
The investigation into this case was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives along with the Fort Wayne Police Department. The prosecution team consisted of Assistant United States Attorneys Stacey R. Speith and Dawn Ransom.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that unites law enforcement at all levels with communities to reduce violent crime and gun violence, aiming to enhance neighborhood safety. On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a strategy to reduce violent crime that reinforces PSN’s core principles: building trust and legitimacy in communities, supporting organizations that work to prevent violence before it occurs, setting focused enforcement priorities strategically, and evaluating results effectively.
