Four indictments were unsealed today in Boston's federal court, charging a second group of alleged members and associates of the Asian Boyz gang. They are accused of involvement in distributing homemade methamphetamine pills labeled as "Adderall."
The five men arrested this morning will appear later today in federal court in Boston. Sovath Yern, also known as "Stryke," 35, from Billerica, faces one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine. Owen Landry, known as "Oski," 22, from Lowell, is charged with several counts related to distribution and possession with intent to distribute varying amounts of methamphetamine. Zachary Hansen, 29, from Lowell, faces similar charges. Scott Fournier, referred to as "S.G.," 33, also from Lowell, has been charged with multiple counts concerning the distribution and possession of methamphetamine. An indictment against a sixth individual currently serving a state prison sentence was also unsealed. Isiah Lyons, alias "Tank" or "Rozay," 29 from Lowell, is accused of conspiracy to distribute and possess more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.
These charges are part of an ongoing investigation into the Asian Boyz gang that started in 2021 aiming to halt the production and distribution of counterfeit Adderall pills affecting Lowell. Allegedly over 57,000 counterfeit pills containing over 18 kilograms of methamphetamine have been seized or purchased from those named in today's indictments.
In July 2023, nine members associated with the gang were previously arrested for drug trafficking conspiracies and illegal firearms transfers. Five have pleaded guilty and await sentencing.
The legal penalties for these offenses range significantly based on the quantity involved but can include sentences up to life imprisonment and fines reaching $10 million.
U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley; Jodi Cohen from the FBI's Boston Division; Greg C. Hudon from the Lowell Police Department announced these developments today alongside assistance provided by other law enforcement agencies including Massachusetts State Police.
