U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers and agriculture specialists organized a career-focused event for youth from the KB Foundation at Philadelphia International Airport. The KB Foundation, a non-profit organization, focuses on enhancing the developmental and social skills of adolescents through various experiences.

The foundation collaborates with local businesses and public entities to expose young people to diverse career paths. "I was linked up with the KB Foundation through some of our local stakeholders. I met with them and really appreciate what they are doing for our local youth," stated Donald Josey, CBP’s Assistant Area Port Director for Passenger Operations in Philadelphia. "This was an opportunity to introduce middle school students to CBP and to a potential career in federal law enforcement."

During the event, officers provided insights into CBP operations and conducted demonstrations, including K9 activities and baggage inspection techniques. The participants also witnessed actual CBP inspections of international travelers.

"Customs and Border Protection’s missions are vital to our national and economic security, and engagements with our local youth mentoring organizations help to raise public understanding of our agency and potentially raises interest by them in a future career with CBP," explained Cleatus P. Hunt, Jr., CBP’s Area Port Director for the Area Port of Philadelphia.

CBP's mission at Ports of Entry involves screening international travelers and cargo while detecting illicit goods that could threaten public safety or economic stability.

More information about daily CBP activities can be found on their website. Updates from the Baltimore Field Office are available on Twitter via @DFOBaltimore, while Instagram content is shared at @cbpfieldops.

CBP is recognized as America's largest law enforcement body tasked with safeguarding national borders across land, air, and sea while promoting lawful travel and trade.
