William J. Ihlenfeld, II U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia
Anthony Allen, a 38-year-old resident of Rosenberg, Texas, has been sentenced to 188 months in federal prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. The operation involved the distribution of methamphetamine, cocaine base, cocaine hydrochloride, fentanyl, and heroin in Monongalia County.
Court documents reveal that Allen led the drug trafficking network from a townhouse in Morgantown and a storage unit in Star City. The drugs were sourced from California and transported via FedEx and USPS. Authorities intercepted nearly 66 pounds of methamphetamine and additional packages containing cocaine and fentanyl sent from California to Houston.
Following his prison term, Allen will undergo three years of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the case.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI's Northern West Virginia Drug Task Force along with the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, supported by several law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; West Virginia State Police; Monongalia County Sheriff's Office; as well as police departments from Morgantown, WVU, Granville, and Star City. Additional assistance came from the Monongalia County Prosecutor’s Office, FBI in Houston; Houston Police Department's Multi-Agency Gang Initiative; United States Postal Inspection Service in Houston; and both FBI and DEA offices in Los Angeles.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations through a coordinated effort involving various law enforcement agencies.
Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the proceedings.
