U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry seized cocaine valued at over $1.4 million in a recent enforcement action. The operation took place on February 6th at the Camino Real International Bridge, where officers conducted a secondary inspection of a 2013 Freightliner tractor hauling a fuel tanker.

Port Director Pete Beattie commented on the seizure, stating, "Our frontline officers continue to maintain rigorous vigilance and that dedication coupled with non-intrusive inspection system technology yielded this significant cocaine seizure."

During the inspection, CBP officers used canines and non-intrusive technology to examine the vehicle further. They discovered 42 packages containing approximately 108.29 pounds of alleged cocaine hidden within the tractor. The narcotics are estimated to have a street value of $1,445,896.

Following the discovery, CBP seized the narcotics along with the tractor and tanker. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents have initiated a criminal investigation into the incident.

CBP is recognized as America's largest law enforcement organization and operates as a unified border management agency. It comprises over 65,000 personnel dedicated to protecting America across various domains while facilitating lawful travel and trade.
