A man from West Springfield, Massachusetts, has been sentenced to three years in prison for his involvement in a firearms theft. Ryan Ansart, aged 22, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stacey D. Neumann in Bangor, Maine. Following his prison term, Ansart will be under supervised release for an additional three years and must pay $17,253.37 in restitution. He had pleaded guilty on August 22, 2024.
Court documents reveal that in April 2022, Ansart and his accomplice Damiean Marcial-Alexander broke into a firearms dealer's store in Waterville and stole several firearms. The stolen items included a Glock Model 17 Gen5 9mm pistol and a Smith & Wesson .38 special revolver. An ATF Theft/Loss Report filed by the store owner indicated that a total of 15 firearms were taken—six revolvers and nine semi-automatic pistols.
Evidence against the pair comprised Instagram posts and text messages detailing their plans for the theft, which included a map leading from Marcial-Alexander’s apartment to the location of the crime. Photos of both men holding some of the stolen firearms were also discovered.
On February 4, Damiean Marcial-Alexander was similarly sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay $17,253.37 in restitution for his part in the conspiracy and theft.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives led the investigation with support from the Waterville Police Department.
