Legislation aimed at reducing regulatory burdens on small businesses has been reintroduced in Congress. The Prove It Act seeks to address issues stemming from federal agencies' non-compliance with the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA). This legislation aims to alleviate the challenges faced by small business owners due to excessive regulations.
Dylan Rosnick, Principal of Federal Government Relations, stated, “This legislation not only remedies the loopholes in the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA), but it empowers small businesses to take part in the rulemaking process and provide much-needed feedback.”
The NFIB Small Business Legal Center's White Paper highlighted significant compliance failures by federal agencies regarding the RFA. These findings have led lawmakers to advocate for stronger accountability measures through the Prove It Act.
Research from the NFIB Research Center indicates that unreasonable government regulations are a major concern for small business owners. Compliance with these mandates consumes valuable time and resources. The Prove It Act intends to strengthen requirements for federal agencies when evaluating the economic impact of regulations on small businesses.
NFIB continues its support for this legislation and is actively opposing overregulation affecting small businesses. They have communicated their backing through letters addressed to both chambers of Congress.
