A federal criminal complaint has been filed against two individuals accused of methamphetamine and firearms offenses in Paducah, Kentucky. The charges were announced by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, alongside several law enforcement officials from different agencies.
The defendants, Carlos Daniel Davalillo-Silva and Paola Alexandra Rodriguez, both Venezuelan nationals, were apprehended following a search at a residence in Hopkinsville on August 28, 2024. The search uncovered approximately three pounds of methamphetamine intended for distribution. Additionally, Rodriguez was found with two firearms.
"Rodriguez was also charged with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm," according to court records. Homeland Security Investigations confirmed that both individuals entered the United States illegally.
Currently held in state custody, Silva and Rodriguez are awaiting their initial court appearances before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Western District of Kentucky. If convicted, they face sentences ranging from a mandatory minimum of 10 years to life imprisonment.
The investigation involves multiple agencies including the DEA – Paducah Post of Duty, ATF – Bowling Green Post of Duty, HSI, ICE/ERO, and the Hopkinsville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Leigh Ann Dycus is handling the prosecution.
Officials emphasized that "a criminal complaint is merely an allegation" and reiterated that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
