ICE arrests five illegal aliens with DUI convictions in Washington

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested five individuals in Washington state, all of whom have convictions related to driving under the influence (DUI). The arrests were made as part of ICE's ongoing efforts to enhance public safety.

The individuals include a Mexican citizen taken into custody on January 29 in Mount Vernon, with DUI and felony DUI convictions from the Skagit County District Court. Another Mexican citizen was arrested the same day in Bellingham, also convicted by the Skagit County District Court for DUI. On January 30, a Mexican citizen was apprehended in Yakima with convictions for DUI and leaving an accident scene.

Additionally, a Guatemalan citizen was detained on February 14 in Bellevue with state charges for DUI. Lastly, a Mexican citizen was arrested on February 19 in Lynden. This individual has multiple convictions: assault by King County Superior Court; assault by Whatcom County Superior Court; reckless driving by Whatcom County District Court; and separate arrests for DUI by both the Washington State Patrol and Federal Way Police Department.

All five individuals are currently held in ICE custody as they await removal proceedings.
