The United States has extended its congratulations to the people of Lebanon following the successful vote of confidence for the new government on February 26. The U.S. commended Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and expressed well wishes for his administration under President Joseph Aoun's leadership.

For an extended period, Lebanon lacked a governing body capable of uniting the nation and rebuilding its state institutions. The United States is now partnering with Lebanon's newly formed government as it works to implement critical economic reforms. Additionally, the U.S. will maintain its support for the Lebanese Armed Forces as they carry out efforts related to the cessation of hostilities.

"America is partnering with Lebanon’s new government as it enacts urgently needed economic reforms," stated a spokesperson from the U.S. government.

"We commend Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and wish his government success under President Joseph Aoun’s leadership," added another official.
