A woman from Denver, Colorado, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl-laced heroin that resulted in two deaths. Alysha Michelle Dittmar, aged 28, received her sentence following a guilty plea on September 11, 2024, to one count of distribution of a controlled substance resulting in death.
The incident took place on July 1, 2023, when Dittmar communicated with an individual identified as A.G. about distributing what was believed to be heroin. Previously, she had provided A.G. with the substance that turned out to be a mixture containing both heroin and fentanyl. Tragically, A.G. and another person identified as T.G. used the mixture and died at their home. The couple's children discovered them and contacted emergency services.
Two days after the overdose fatalities, law enforcement officials conducted a controlled purchase of purported heroin from Dittmar. The substance obtained during this operation was found to contain heroin, fentanyl, and xylazine.
