Lucy Grace Nelson, also known as Justin Thomas Nelson, a 42-year-old resident of Lyons, Colorado, has been charged with one count of malicious destruction of property. The charges relate to several incidents at a Tesla dealership in Loveland, Colorado.
The complaint details that on January 29, the Loveland Police responded to a report of a fire near a Cyber Truck at the dealership. Investigators found an incendiary device, commonly known as a "Molotov cocktail," next to the vehicle. Further incidents occurred on February 2 when graffiti was reported on the dealership sign with the word "NAZI" sprayed in black paint. On February 7, police were called again for graffiti and possible arson; multiple broken bottles resembling incendiary devices were discovered during this investigation. Another incident on February 11 involved a security guard encountering an individual painting graffiti containing an expletive on the front windows of the building.
On February 24, police confronted Nelson at the dealership and found items in her car consistent with those used in previous incidents: a container of gasoline along with bottles and wick material.
Nelson made an initial court appearance before Magistrate Judge N. Reid Neureiter. The case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Denver Field Office, and the Loveland Police Department. The prosecution is managed by the Violent Crime and Immigration Enforcement Section of the United States Attorney’s Office.
