Members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) have elected four senior officers to lead the organization in 2025. The elections took place at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.

NAHB, which represents over 140,000 members through more than 700 affiliated state and local home builders associations, focuses on advocacy, education, and research for housing professionals across the nation.

Buddy Hughes from Lexington, North Carolina, has been appointed as NAHB’s Chairman of the Board. With over 45 years in the industry, Hughes founded Hughes Construction in 1984 and has trained numerous builders and homeowners. He emphasized that addressing housing affordability will be a top priority this year: “With the nation in the midst of a housing affordability crisis, our top priority this year will be to work with the Trump administration and Congress to remove barriers that hinder the construction of new homes and apartments.”

Bill Owens from Worthington, Ohio was elected as First Vice Chairman. Owens founded Owens Construction in 1982 and brings more than four decades of experience in residential construction.

Bob Peterson from Fort Collins, Colorado is now Second Vice Chairman. Peterson started Associates in Building + Design, Ltd. (ABD) in May 1990. His daughters currently manage ABD while he serves as a consultant.

Gary Campbell from Lowell, Massachusetts joins as Third Vice Chairman. Campbell is CEO of Campbell Communities which manages rental housing units across New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Carl Harris remains on the leadership ladder as Immediate Past Chairman for 2025. Based in Wichita, Kansas, Harris co-founded Carl Harris Co., Inc., specializing in home building and remodeling.

The association's leadership team is completed by NAHB President and CEO Jim Tobin from Washington D.C., who oversees a staff at the National Housing Center.
