Muskogee, Oklahoma – The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has announced that Christian Deion Larance Smith, 27, and Kaleel Montrel Smith, 26, both from Muskogee, have pleaded guilty to federal drug charges. They admitted to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
According to the indictment, on July 25, 2024, the two men knowingly possessed substances containing detectable amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine. These substances are classified as Schedule II controlled substances.
The investigation was conducted by several agencies including the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the Muskogee Police Department, the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Department, and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police Department.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted their plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. He ordered a presentence investigation report be completed. Kaleel Smith is currently in custody under the United States Marshals Service while awaiting sentencing. Meanwhile, Christian Smith remains out on bond until his sentencing.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jordan Howanitz.
