The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) has announced the addition of new scholars to its Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies team. Among them is Christine Emba, whose work will focus on civil society, politics, and culture. Prior to joining AEI, Ms. Emba held positions as a deputy editor at The Economist, the Hilton Kramer Fellow in Criticism at The New Criterion, and a columnist and editor at The Washington Post. She is also currently a staff writer at The Atlantic and a visiting fellow at Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Economy and Society.
"Christine Emba’s perceptive insights on the evolution of our culture are essential to understanding where American society is headed. We’re thrilled to have her joining the ranks of our scholars," said Dr. Levin.
Ms. Emba expressed her enthusiasm about joining AEI: "AEI is unique among think tanks in the seriousness with which it undertakes the study of culture, and in its understanding of how social and interpersonal relationships undergird American life. Dr. Guelzo will focus his research on American history, statesmanship, and civic education while maintaining his role as Thomas W. Smith Distinguished Research Scholar at Princeton University.
Mr. Hamburger's area of study includes administrative law, the US Constitution, and legal history; he continues his position as Maurice and Hilda Friedman Professor of Law at Columbia Law School.
Dr. Stid will concentrate on civil society, philanthropy, and democratic governance alongside his duties as executive director of Lyceum Labs.
