Honduran national sentenced to ten months for illegal reentry

Luis Daniel Mejia-Gomez, a 41-year-old Honduran national, has been sentenced to ten months in prison for illegal reentry into the United States. The sentencing was delivered by United States District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion on February 27, 2025.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Mejia-Gomez had previously been deported from the U.S. in 2001, 2007, and again in 2020 after a conviction for illegal reentry. His recent arrest occurred following a conviction for driving under the influence in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Following the completion of his sentence, Mejia-Gomez will be deported from the United States once more.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Scalera led the prosecution of this case.
