U.S.-China committee plans press conference on trade issues

Chairman John Moolenaar and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi, representing the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), are set to hold a press conference addressing China's trade practices. The event is scheduled for March 5 at 2:00 p.m. ET at the US Capitol, H-122.

The conference aims to discuss issues such as intellectual property theft, trade fraud, and tariff circumvention by China. It will also feature a legislative update with the reintroduction of key bills intended to strengthen U.S. defenses against economic coercion from China.

Speakers at the event include Rep. Ashley Hinson, who is leading new legislation efforts, along with Chairman John Moolenaar and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi. Several CEOs and business leaders affected by CCP trade practices will also participate in the discussion. Among them are Tom Muth of Zekelman Industries, David Rashid of Plews and Edelmann, Andy Warlick of Parkdale Mills, Inc., Brian O’Shaugnessy of Revere Copper, Milton Magnus III of M&B Metal Products Company, Inc., Betsy Natz of Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association, Brad Muller of Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, and Christopher Carney of FDP Virginia Inc.

For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available on the Select Committee’s official website and social media channels.
