Boehler stated, "I think there’s nothing more important for this country than for everyone to know that if they’re abroad and they’re taken that the country has their back." He praised President Trump's commitment to prioritizing the return of American hostages and detainees, mentioning collaboration with Secretary Rubio, Mike Waltz, and others to ensure focused policies.
Director Patel highlighted the shared experiences within the community affected by wrongful detentions. He said, "We need to focus on sharing some more joy and removing the pain that too many American families and families around the world feel when their loved one is taken." Patel assured that returning hostages is a top priority for the administration.
Patel underscored the interagency efforts required to address these issues effectively. He promised to use all available resources as FBI Director to prevent further detentions and bring closure to affected families. He expressed his dedication: "For me, this is an apolitical mission."
