Representatives from the United States, Canada, and Finland convened in Helsinki on March 4-5 to discuss the Icebreaker Collaboration Effort (ICE Pact). The meeting focused on implementing strategies to build Arctic and Polar icebreakers. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to the initiative's objectives, which include constructing top-tier icebreakers, stimulating economic growth, and revitalizing the U.S. shipbuilding industry.

The discussions covered technical collaboration in icebreaker design and production, development of shipyard workforce skills, engagement with allies and partners, and research related to Arctic and Polar regions. All parties acknowledged the importance of enhancing Arctic and Polar icebreaking capabilities for maintaining a strong presence in these areas.

The representatives agreed to continue their collaborative efforts with plans for another meeting in May in Canada.
