TechNet has filed an amicus curiae brief with the Supreme Court in the case of Labcorp v. Davis. The organization, representing innovation economy leaders, argues that allowing uninjured plaintiffs to initiate class action lawsuits contradicts Article III of the Constitution and the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. TechNet contends this could harm American innovation and digital businesses, especially smaller enterprises.

Carl Holshouser, TechNet's Executive Vice President, stated, "The idea that large groups of people who have suffered no harm at all could use class action lawsuits to pressure companies into enormous settlements is unconstitutional and potentially ruinous to the American economy." He emphasized that such legal actions could damage U.S. companies and create obstacles for digital startups.

TechNet’s Innovation Legal Center (ILC) aims to promote pro-innovation laws through legal advocacy. The ILC represents TechNet in significant litigation efforts and works with experts to enhance understanding of key legal issues affecting innovation.

The organization is represented by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in this matter. Carl Holshouser leads the ILC alongside Drew Hudson as litigation director and Ebbie Yazdani providing policy expertise.
