Davonta D. Brogdon, a 32-year-old from Detroit, Michigan, received a 150-month federal prison sentence for his involvement in a drug trafficking operation in Harrison County. The sentencing took place in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Court documents and statements revealed that Brogdon, also known by the aliases "Zone" and "Tay," played a significant role in transporting substantial amounts of controlled substances from Detroit to Clarksburg. During one of his trips, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop and discovered 443 grams of methamphetamine and over 50 grams of fentanyl. Brogdon was also found to have recruited others to aid in the drug trafficking activities.
Following his prison term, Brogdon will be subject to three years of supervised release.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christie Utt. The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force—a HIDTA-funded initiative—the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.
Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh oversaw the proceedings.
