Steven Greenleaf Blodgett, a 67-year-old resident of Pocatello, has been sentenced to a decade in federal prison for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Justin Whatcott.

Court records reveal that in July 2024, officers from the BADGES Task Force executed a search warrant on Blodgett's rental car as he returned from Utah to Bannock County. They discovered approximately four pounds of methamphetamine. A subsequent search of his Pocatello residence uncovered a loaded firearm and evidence of drug distribution.

In August 2024, a federal grand jury indicted Blodgett. He pleaded guilty on November 19, 2024. Chief United States District Judge David C. Nye handed down the sentence on March 17, 2025, which includes five years of supervised release following his prison term.

Acting U.S. Attorney Whatcott praised the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Idaho State Police, Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, Pocatello Police Department, Chubbuck Police Department, Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, and Blackfoot Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Blythe H. McLane prosecuted the case.

The investigation was conducted under the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program. HIDTA is supported by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and provides resources for multiagency drug enforcement initiatives like the BADGES Task Force.

The BADGES Task Force is an alliance of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies focusing on drug trafficking crimes in Bannock County and surrounding areas.
