Duncansville man sentenced for meth trafficking after multi-agency investigation

A Duncansville resident has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for his involvement in methamphetamine trafficking. Douglas Hillegass, aged 62, will also serve two years of supervised release following his imprisonment. The sentencing was announced by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti and took place on March 12, 2025, under the jurisdiction of United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines.

The conviction stems from a six-month Title III wiretap investigation into drug trafficking activities across Blair, Cambria, Centre, and Clearfield counties in Pennsylvania. According to court documents, Hillegass was involved in distributing methamphetamine after acquiring approximately six ounces from a large-scale narcotics supplier.

Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty led the prosecution for this case. The investigation that resulted in Hillegass's conviction was conducted by multiple agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Service – Office of Inspector General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Pennsylvania State Police.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative. OCDETF aims to identify and dismantle high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through a collaborative approach involving federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
