The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced the sentencing of Walter Sitosky, a 67-year-old resident of Houtzdale, Pennsylvania. Sitosky received a sentence of 120 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. This follows his guilty plea to charges related to the attempted enticement of a minor.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus reported that Sitosky had arranged to pay for sexual services from a 13-year-old child. His arrest occurred during an undercover operation when he traveled to Centre County on November 10, 2023, intending to meet the child.
The investigation involved multiple agencies including the FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, Patton Township Police, Centre County District Attorney’s Office, Williamsport Police, and Lycoming County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan V. Martin is handling the prosecution.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project involves federal, state, and local resources working together to apprehend and prosecute offenders while identifying and rescuing victims.
