Ronnie Rogers, a 69-year-old resident of Washington D.C., has admitted guilt in a U.S. District Court for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy. The charges involve the importation and distribution of substantial amounts of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine across the District of Columbia.
The announcement was made by several officials, including U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. "Rogers pleaded guilty to a three-count Information charging him with conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, 100 grams or more of a fentanyl analogue, and 100 grams or more of heroin; conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and cocaine base; and to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense."
Judge Trevor N. McFadden has scheduled Rogers' sentencing for July 21, 2025. Rogers faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 15 years, with the possibility of life imprisonment.
The plea agreement reveals that between July 2021 and November 2023, Rogers collaborated with others to traffic more than 12 kilograms of fentanyl, including carfentanil, over 1967 grams of fentanyl analog, over 236 grams of heroin, over 500 grams of cocaine, and lesser amounts of crack cocaine.
On November 29, 2023, law enforcement executed searches at Rogers' residences, recovering large quantities of narcotics and firearms. These included nearly 705 grams of carfentanil, three firearms, $23,000 in cash, and various drug paraphernalia at his apartment in Washington D.C. Additional drugs and weapons were recovered at residences in District Heights, Maryland, and Waldorf, Maryland.
"This operation is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation," using a multi-agency approach to tackle high-level drug traffickers and organized crime.
The case is being investigated by multiple agencies, including the DEA Washington Division and the FBI Washington Field Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys George Eliopoulos and Matthew Kinskey are leading the prosecution.
