After a thorough investigation carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Virginia State Police, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, Jamaican national Kirkville Virgo has been sentenced to 14 years in prison. Virgo, aged 47, was sentenced on March 28 for attempting to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Christopher Heck, acting Special Agent in Charge of ICE Homeland Security Investigations Washington D.C., commented on the sentencing by stating, “This sentence sends a clear message that those who traffic dangerous drugs like methamphetamine will be held accountable.” He added that the case was made possible through the collaboration of state law enforcement partners and prosecutors, aimed at making communities safer by halting drug trafficking.

Details from the investigation revealed that Virgo and an accomplice shipped methamphetamine from California to a hotel in Richmond. The package, intended for "Christoper Jackson," was intercepted on March 23, 2024, containing 10 heat-sealed bundles weighing about 9,080 grams. Law enforcement officers replaced approximately 18 pounds of methamphetamine with "sham" rock salt while leaving two pounds of meth in the package for a controlled delivery. Virgo collected the package from the hotel under the alias Delbert Dujon and was subsequently taken into custody.

It was discovered that Virgo had previously been permanently removed from the United States on February 5, 2013, and was illegally present in the country at the time of the offense.

The case was a joint investigation by ICE HSI Washington, D.C., and the Virginia State Police, and it is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.
