Vincent Sandifer, a 25-year-old resident of Mobile, has been sentenced to 63 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm. As stated in court documents, Sandifer was involved in multiple burglaries of vehicles, businesses, and apartments. The Mobile Police Department conducted a search warrant at his apartment. Upon arriving at the parking lot, officers observed Sandifer transferring items believed to be stolen from one car to another. When police approached, Sandifer fled, during which he rammed into a patrol car and caused several roadway collisions. He was eventually captured with a firearm in his possession.
Sandifer, who has previous felony convictions including eight counts of auto burglary, burglary, and cruelty to animals, is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and pled guilty to this offense. United States District Court Judge Kristi K. DuBose handed down the sentence, which includes a three-year period of supervised release following his prison term.
