Boston man sentenced for trafficking machinegun conversion devices

A Boston man received a sentence for illegal firearms activities involving the sale of machinegun conversion devices. Elijah Navarro, aged 26, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Denise J. Casper to one year and one day in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. In December 2023, Navarro admitted guilt to charges related to firearm manufacturing and possession of machineguns.

Navarro, along with co-defendant Michael Wilkerson, faced charges after being arrested in February 2023. In January 2023, Navarro agreed to sell 12 machinegun conversion devices for $1,700. Transactions took place in two separate meetings on January 19 and 25, resulting in the sale of 12 devices from Wilkerson's home.

Searches conducted in February 2023 revealed numerous rounds of ammunition at Navarro’s residence. Meanwhile, a search at Wilkerson's residence uncovered 3-D printers, printing materials, conversion devices, firearms, ammunition, and a ballistic vest. Both individuals lacked proper licenses for firearms dealings.

Wilkerson received a sentencing in April 2024, resulting in 20 months in prison and two years of supervised release.

The case was addressed by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley, alongside James M. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the ATF Boston Field Division, and Boston Police Commissioner Michael A. Cox. Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Dawley from the Organized Crime & Gang Unit prosecuted the case.
